I've taught secondary English for 23 years and examined for key exam boards for 13. Along the way I've taught in a suburban school with an extremely wide range of abilities, in two inner-city schools where many students struggled with literacy, in a mid-range comprehensive and in a large mixed-ability school.
That range taught me to spot quickly what is holding a student back, and to plan the steps that close the gap. I started Miss Clare Tutoring to give every student that kind of personal attention, and I now lead our College in Chapel Allerton.

How do I book a lesson?
Use the Book Online page: choose a tutor, then a lesson, then a day and time. Send it to us as a request and we'll confirm the time by email. Email us first if you'd like to talk through what your child needs.
How do I pay?
We invoice you at the end of each month for the lessons your child has had, so you only pay for lessons that took place. See the Pay page for details.

About Miss Clare Tutoring
From one dedicated tutor to a team of fully-vetted specialists, with the same personal standard.
It started with one tutor
Miss Clare began with Clare Loughran, a secondary English teacher of twenty-three years and an examiner for key exam boards for thirteen, who tutored Year 9 to 11 students in Leeds. Her private tuition was built on personal attention, honest teaching and results families could trust.
That approach became the foundation of a tutoring agency. Today we bring together a team of experienced, fully-vetted tutors across English, Maths and Sciences, each held to the standard on which the business was built.

Privacy
We collect only what we need to arrange and deliver tuition: names, contact details, year group, subjects and notes about your child's learning. We use it to arrange lessons, take payment, track progress and contact you about tuition. We don't sell or share it, except with the tutor teaching your child and the services we use to run bookings and payments.

Safeguarding
Student wellbeing comes first. Every tutor is fully vetted before they teach. Lessons take place at our College, online, or in a family setting agreed with parents, and tutors keep contact with students professional and through agreed channels.
